I definitely have lofty goals for this year’s April Camp Nano. First off, my plan is to blog each day about how the writing process is going. This also is an accountability point for the main goal. The main goal is for me to get the draft finished by the end of the month. This draft of edits have fifteen chapters left on April 1. They may not seem like lofty goals, but these are two items that are important for me to get the book finished.
I am doing edits first thing in the morning. This means once I am up before the sun, I need to make a cup of coffee. This also means that the guinea pigs need their morning veggies. All before the sun is up. But, my mug of coffee this time will be in my reward from last won Nanowrimo as a form of encouragement. The mug is all the moods and faces of Michael Meyers. As long as my phone charges all night, I can get my computer started and ready to go while I am getting prepped for the day. My plan is to have an hour at least each day of just editing.
After I edit, I’ll work on the blog post for the previous day’s edits and anything else of note. I’m also considering listing the music or playlist that I have on while I am doing both edits and blogging. In fact, I’m making one today of the music that is randomly running through my head. Each playlist is from YouTube, but I am pretty sure that they all can be found in Spotify or Apple Music. That’s another subscription I may have to bring back for writing. Just to make playlists for others to listen to if they are enjoyed.
But, that’s my main plan. It sounds like a short amount of time, but while I am editing, I also am outlining the second book in the series. This summer, I have a plan to go to the one location that I am writing about to get background descriptions for the book. I hope those little teasers are tasty.
